Uruguay Strengthens Investment Protection Through US$3.536 Billion Arbitration Ruling

On 29 October, Uruguay secured a favourable ruling from the Paris Court of Appeal in the Aratirí mining arbitration case, rejecting a US$3.536 billion compensation claim against the country. The decision also allows Uruguay to pursue approximately US$4.5 million in legal costs, alongside an additional €300,000 awarded in court costs.
