Thailand Plans New Data Centre Standards as Investment Applications Increase

On 27 October, Thailand’s data centre committee announced plans to introduce minimum operating requirements covering site location, land use, fuel storage, water management and environmental practices. Reuters reported that Thailand had 42 data centres representing approximately 3,400 MW of IT load and around THB 750 billion in investment as of February 2026, with more than 100 prospective operators. New applications are expected to open in early 2027, while existing facilities will have one year to comply with the new standards. Data centre operators, cloud providers and technology suppliers can explore opportunities in compliance systems, infrastructure monitoring and secure data platforms. HPC can support computing infrastructure planning, data analytics and technical project research; contact HPC for a quotation based on your confirmed workload.
